Regular Season Round 11: SM Beermen - HK Eastern 74-84

Bottom-ranked FilipinoBeermen (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-74 loss to third ranked Hong Kong HK Eastern (3-2) in Manila on Wednesday evening. HK Eastern outrebounded SM Beermen 48-34 including 37 on the defensive glass. HK Eastern looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208-1992, college: Victoria) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Cameron Clark (201-1991, college: Oklahoma, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. Five HK Eastern players scored in double figures. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Celedonio Trollano (191-1992) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HK Eastern have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 3-2 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. SM Beermen at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
